In the few years after the last episode of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Mystery, Inc. has become the most famous mystery-solving team in the world while dealing with the ramifications of destroying the Evil Entity. For instance, in the old timeline, Scrappy-Doo had turned evil and was sent to prison, but, in the new timeline Mystery, Inc. created, he is all good and is a member of the team. Now completely settled in Coolsville, Ohio, the team with its newest members are ready to solve more mysteries. They have to help Muriel Fahrion when the toy she designed, Strawberry Shortcake, comes to life as a ghost. Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby will need the help of their newest members, Scooby-Dum, Scrappy-Doo, Marcie Fleach who, in the new timeline, was never referred to as Hot Dog Water, and Googie Davison who is Shaggy's new girlfriend to solve this mystery.
