The Mystery Of The Mystery Machine is the 20th episode of season 4 of Scooby-Doo! Original Mysteries.
Premise[]
The gang stop for gas, but remember they have no money, after escaping from the Haunted Hill. But this gas station is deserted and haunted-something has possesed the Mystery Machine...
Synopsis[]
The gang find themselves stuck at an abandoned gas station-and something's possessed the Mystery Machine The Mystery Machine is on the last bits of gas, and Fred must go to the next gas station for some gasoline. The gang find themselves at an empty gas station with no gas in the Mystery Machine...because Fred didn't read the sign correctly that the gas station was closed (he thought it said "The Gas Station Is Not Closed!", which was not very smart).
So the gang arrive in an abandoned gas station, and as soon as they get there the Mystery Machine breaks down. Fred tells the gang to break open the gas station using a pair of pliers that he gives Shaggy and Scooby. As for the girls, he tells them to look around to see if they can find some gas. He stays there to try to get it working again (although it's out of gas).
Shaggy and Scooby break open the gas station and look around. Unfortunately there is nothing there. They go back outside again and try to help Fred with the Mystery Machine. But then the Mystery Machine comes to life...a life of its own! This has happened before and they run into the gas station.
The girls have found some gas, but since the Mystery Machine has come to life, they drop them and run to Fred and the others in the gas station.
Fred decides to set a trap for the Mystery Machine using only things in the gas station. So Shaggy and Scooby are pushed outside for bait.
The Mystery Machine chases them around and engulfs them into it. Fortunately Shaggy drives it toward the trap...but it escapes. The Mystery Machine starts driving and the others jump in. The episode ends with the gang wondering where it will take them as none can control it.
