Home On The Scareroad is the 5th episode of season 5 of Scooby-Doo! Original Mysteries.
Premise[]
After deciding to head back to Coolsville (much to the dislike of some members), the gang find the road home haunted by a scary monster.
Synopsis[]
The road to Coolsville has a mystery for the gang.
The gang head back to Coolsville reflecting on all the mysteries they have solved, etc.,etc. This takes up about half the episode.
Finally something comes onto the road and it turns out to be a ghost. Fred drives off the road and everyone gets out to look for the ghost, but he has disappeared. So Fred suggests that everyone splits up, with Scooby and Shaggy going one way the others another.
Scooby and Shaggy walk down the road and soon find a clue: a piece of paper. Before they can examine it, the Ghost of the Road appears and scares them. He chases them down the road, and soon all three come across a chicken walking across the road. So why'd the chicken cross the road? Shaggy and Scooby use a trick to escape the Ghost of the Road and continue investigating.
On the other end the others see that someone has put up detour signs for this road, very fresh because they came her a while ago and didn't see them. Velma wonders about this when Daphne trips and stumbles on something. It turns out to be a fake chain, like the ones on the Ghost. They carry it back to the road to set a trap.
Shaggy and Scooby also meet up with the gang, but before they can set a trap the Ghost of the Road. Shaggy and Scooby use the chain to catch him and the gang call the local sheriff.
It turns out to be some guy. Since the gang don't even know what happened and are kind of in a hurry, they do not explain to the sheriff exactly why he did it, and the episode ends with the sheriff looking confused and the gang roaring off.
