Roses are Dead, Violets are Few is the eighth episode of season 1 in the The Scooby Doo Adventures.
Whilst in New York City, Daphne bumps into an old friend from college who has a terrifying problem involving a big bug. Will the gang solve the mystery?
The gang are seen getting off a coach after a long distance trip. It is soon made apparent that they're in New York City after a conversation within the gang with several mentions to nearby landmarks, like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. They discuss what they should do first; Shaggy and Scooby want to taste local cusine, but the others want to explore the city.
They end up wallking down Central Park when a flustered woman rushes by carrying some flowers in a pot. She knocks into the gang and drops her flowers. Daphne instantly recognises the woman and says "LeShawna?", the woman looks up and replies, "Daphne?", with a smile on their faces. They hug and introduce eachother. It is revealed that they went to fashion college together. LeShawna then invites them back to her flower shop.
They are next seen inside the flower shop where LeShawna mentions the recent going-ons in the shop and explains that a monster has been terrorizing her shop. She refers to it as the 'Bouquet Beast' and says that it has been wrecking her shop regularly. At this moment, a man enters asking for some flowers. LeShawna knows the man and introduces him to the gang. The man (Felice) says that he lives on the same street as the shop with his mum, Rose, who he is buying flowers for. Fred asks him if he's seen anything of the monster seeing as he lives nearby, but he says he doesn't know about any monster.
