Scooby-Doo! Spooky Saturday is another incarnation of the long-running Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon Scooby-Doo. It was created by Decca03
. The series got its name because every episode airs on a Saturday.
Decca03's goal when he thought up the series was to have longer episodes. And he did it in the first and second episodes.
Frank Welker does the voices of Fred and Scooby. Matthew Lillard does Shaggy's voice, Grey DeLisle does Daphne's voice, and Mindy Cohn does Velma's voice. In each episode, Scooby and the gang go somewhere and encounter a mystery. The mysteries always have a monster or a ghost as the villain; next the gang splits up and finds clues. At the end, Fred sets a trap. After the monster is caught it turns out to be a person in a costume. The villains always have a motive; some might be smugglers, some might be revenge-seekers, they could be anything.
The gang goes to a resort on a snowy mountain. People say it's built right over the old hotel that got snowed in and people never came out. Upon arriving the gang decides to have some fun skiing. But the old hotel holds secrets! Skiing ghosts haunt the hotel, the ghosts of the skiers that died in the old hotel! Now the gang must find out what's really going on! But to do so they might have to go to where it all began... the old hotel!
The gang goes to Maroon Mine to see their old buddy, but he's vanished! But the gang doesn't know just how mazing this mine is! They must split up to find Jason, but what way to take? As soon as Scooby and Shaggy encounter the Emerald Phantom and Fred, Daphne, and Velma are attacked by a ghost miner they realize this case is more than just a missing friend!
